Miss Myrtle Kesler died Friday [July 27, 1928] morning after several months illness. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at East Chain and burial was at the Armstrong cemetery. (Estherville News, August 1, 1928)

Myrtle Kesler Dies of Heart Failure
Iowa Lake, August 7 – Miss Myrtle Kesler, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Kesler, died Friday morning from heart failure. She was found dead in her bed by her parents when she failed to arise at the usual time. She is survived by her father and mother, and four brothers, Ezra, Kenneth, Herbert, and Ray. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at Center Chain church. They were conducted by the Rev. Harry Peterson of Herman, Neb., a former Center Chain man. Pall bearers were Roy Anderson, Vernon Peterson, John Strom, and Guy Simpson. (Estherville News, Estherville, IA, August 8, 1928)
