Estherville – Harold Carl Johnson, 84, will be held Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Chapel, Estherville, with Pastor Paul Weigman officiating. Interment will be in Armstrong Grove Cemetery with military service by VFW Post 3388 and American Legion Post 91 both of Estherville. He died Sunday, Aug. 11, 1991 at Holy Family Hospital.He was born August 15, 1906 at Swea City, the son of Charles and Nellie (Blomster) Johnson and attended Swea City Schools. On May 6, 1926 he married Rose Danielson at Swea City. The couple moved to Titonka in 1928 where he operated a Produce Business for fifteen years. He became an Iowa Conservation Officer in 1943. He enlisted in the Navy later in 1943 and served in Key Wes, Fla. as a Shore Patrol Officer for 2 ½ years. After the war, they moved to Alton where he worked as a conservation officer. In 1949 they moved to Estherville where he continued as a conservation officer and District Game Manager for Northwest Iowa. He retired December 1, 1971.
He is survived by his wife Rose of Estherville; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, August 14, 1991)
