Services Set Saturday for Samuel Dunlap
Samuel A. Dunlap, 80, Armstrong, died Thursday [December 3, 1970] at Holy Family Hospital. He was born June 5, 1890, at Perrysville, Ind., to Charles and Zilla Dunlap. He received his education in Indiana and Illinois and attended The Brown’s Business College at Danville, Ill.

On April 16, 1927, he was married to Cora A. Griffin at Dubuque.

They lived in Chicago for two years, then moved to a farm southwest of Armstrong in May, 1929. He lived there the rest of his life.

He was a veteran of WWI and a member of the United Bretheren Church at Danville, Ill.

Survivors include his wife, Cora; one daughter, Mrs. Gene (Doris) Porter, Burbank, Calif.; two grandsons, Ron and Mark Porter, Burbank, Calif.; and one brother, Leslie W. Dunlap, Danville, Ill.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and two sisters.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Reese-Henry Funeral Chapel in Armstrong with the Rev. Leslie Lewis officiating.

Burial will be at Armstrong Grove Cemetery. Friends may call at the Reese-Henry funeral Home in Armstrong until time of the services. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, December 4, 1970)
