Estherville Pioneer Dies in Washington
John Cousins, a pioneer of Estherville coming here over 60 years ago passed away on Nov. 12, a Bellingham, Wash. He was 80 years old and had been in failing health for the past few years. He is survived by his wife who before her marriage was Ellen Burt of Armstrong, aunt of Roy Burt of this city, and two sons and two daughters all of Bellingham. There are three nieces in this county, Mrs. Archie Bixby, Mrs. Emil Leo and Mrs. Albert Irwin.

While Mr. Cousins moved away from Estherville many years ago, he is well remembered by the older residents here. (Vindicator and Republican, Estherville, IA, November 19, 1930)
