Halfa Man Dies at 69
Charles Booth, 69, of Halfa, died yesterday in Ontario, Calif., after suffering a heart attack.

Mr. and Mrs. Booth had been in California two weeks visiting their son, Charles and family.

The body will be returned to Armstrong by plane and will be at the Slaba-Reese Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Presbyterian church at Armstrong with burial in Armstrong Grove Cemetery.

Mr. Booth was born in Halfa Dec. 27, 1897, and moved with his family to Estherville in 1914. He attended Estherville schools and farmed at various places in South Dakota before returning to Emmet County.

He was a veteran of World War I, and was a member of the Masonic Lodge.

He is survived by his wife, Mildred; a daughter, Mrs. James (Barbara) Lindell of Fairmont; a son, Charles, of Ontario, Calif.; five grandchildren; two brothers, George of Estherville and Daniel of Des Moines; and two sisters, Mrs. Shirley Dow of Estherville and Mrs. Soren Nielsen of Armstrong.
