Mrs. H.L. Wilhelms Services Thursday
Estherville – Funeral services for Mrs. H.L. (Shorty) Wilhelms, 70, Estherville will be 2 p.m. Thursday at the Calvary Baptist church with Rev. G.O. St. Lawrence officiating and burial in the Palestine Lutheran Cemetery in Dolliver. She had died at her home Monday [January 20, 1975] morning after a lingering illness.

She was born December 5, 1904, at Jewell, Colo., to Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Watland. She was married Dec. 5, 1949 to H. L. Wilhelms in Sheridan, Wyo., and lived on a ranch in Montana until 1958 when they moved to Estherville.

Mrs. Wilhelms is survived by her husband; one son, Virgil, Seattle, Wash.; and two grandchildren.

Friends may call at the Fuhrman Funeral Home after noon Wednesday until noon on Thursday when the body will be taken to the church to lie in state. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, January 21, 1975)
