Frieda O’Sell
Fairmont, Minn. – Private family service was held Saturday for Mrs. Frieda Ann O’Sell, 82, at the Olson Funeral Chapel, Fairmont, with interment in Lincoln Township Cemetery, rural Dolliver. She died Thursday, Dec. 28, 1989 at her home in Fairmont.

She was born April 1, 1907 near Dolliver, the daughter of Henry and Mary (Diekman) Simon. She attended rural grade school and graduated from Ceylon, Minn. high school in 1925. She was also a graduate of Norman School in Fairmont and attended college in Mankato and Duluth. She taught school in Martin County for five years. On June 25, 1932 she married Alfred O’Sell at Ceylon. They lived in Welcome where they owned the Cut Rite Grocery Store, then moved to Dolliver and owned and operated O’Sell’s Store for 45 years. The couple retired to Fairmont in 1980. She was a member of Dolliver Lutheran Church where she was active in WELCA.

Survivors include sons James, Dolliver; Jerald and Thomas, Fairmont; Alfred, Coon Rapids, Minn. and Robert of Albert Lea; 15 grandchldren; three great-grandchildren; sister, Mrs. Eleanor Fenrich, Laurel, Md. and a daughter-in-law, Esther O’Sell, Fairmont.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband who died Oct. 9, 1988; one son; two brothers; and five sisters. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, January 4, 1990)
