William O’Neil
Lincoln, Nebr. – Graveside service for William J. O’Neil, 71, was held Thursday at Lincoln Township Cemetery, rural Dolliver with full military rites by Estherville VFW Post 3388 and American Legion Post 91. He died Saturday, Jan. 18, 1992 at the VA Medical Centre at Lincoln. Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.He was born February 24, 1920 at Kansas City, Mo., the son of Orin and Pauline (Davis) O’Neil. During World War Two he served in the China, Burma and India Theatre. He was employed as a mail handler in Lincoln.
He is survived by one sister, Mrs. Daryl (Faye) Terril, Alamo, Texas and one brother, Gus Barbas, Omaha, Neb.; several nieces and nephews including Mrs. Gary (Peggy) Fick, Estherville.
He was preceded in death by his parents, step-father, Louis Barbas and wife, Clara [Clara M. Peterson Van Derveer]. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, January 25, 1992)
