Dolliver – Services for Doris J. [June] Leininger, 64, of Dolliver, will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Chapel in Estherville with the Rev. Marshall Monthei officiating. Interment will be at Lincoln Township Cemetery in Dolliver. She died Sunday, Dec. 13, at Holy Family Hospital, Estherville.

Friends may call at Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home in Estherville after 4 p.m. on Tuesday.

She was born June 4, 1928, in Hampton, the daughter of Ray and Viola Mae (Kline) Colberg and attended Algona schools, graduating from Algona High School. She then attended Iowa State Teachers College in Cedar Falls. On July 3, 1948, she married Marvin John Leininger in Algona.

Leininger taught school for two and one-half years at Sexton prior to her marriage. Following her marriage, the couple lived in Titon, Kan. For one year before moving to Vancouver, Wash. In 1951, the couple returned to Iowa and lived in Superior and Maple Hill. In 1961, the family moved to Dolliver. During the 1970s, she owned and operated hamburger Haven in Estherville. She was a member of the Dolliver Lutheran Church.

Survivors include: husband, Marvin Leininger; daughters, Carol Jean Bloomguist of Jackson, Minn., Rose Mary Blackwell of Keokuk, Bootsie Gross of Superior, Penny Lee Johnson of Dolliver; sons: Marvin John Leininger, Jr. of Thornton, Dennis Ray Leininger of Estherville, James Arthur Leininger of Dolliver, Gerald Albert Leininger of Hampton; 21 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son, Thomas; her parents, one sister and one brother. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, December 14, 1992)
