Dolliver – Harold (Pat) Laffey, 77, Dolliver, was found dead in his home Monday [September 19, 1977] morning, the victim of an apparent heart attack.Services for Mr. Laffey will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Dolliver Methodist Church with the Rev. Travis Cannaday officiating. Interment will be in the Dolliver Cemetery.
Friends may call at Fuhrman Funeral Home, Estherville, after noon Wednesday and at the church one hour prior to services Thursday.
Mr. Laffey was born Jan. 24, 1900, near Dolliver, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Laffey. He received his education in Dolliver schools and was married to Emma Jean McIlwraith at Estherville Jan. 19, 1936. The couple farmed in the Dolliver area.
He is survived by one son, Donald Laffey, New Hope, Minn.; two daughters, Mrs. Lloyd (Joyce) Groshens, Jackson, Minn., and Mrs. David (Shirley) Brown, Spencer; six grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Howard (Esther) Kuiters, Omaha, Neb. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, three sisters and two brothers. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, September 20, 1977)
