Fred Arthur Kleen, 72, Dolliver, died early Sunday [March 7, 1971] morning at the Valley Vue Nursing Home in Armstrong.
He was born Dec. 18, 1899, at Petersburg, Ill., to Mr. and Mrs. Henry G. Kleen. He moved to Iowa and Emmet County in 1912 and has resided in the Dolliver area since that time. He is a veteran of WWII.
He is survived by three brothers, Alfred, Renwick; Roy and Edgar, both of Estherville; one sister, Mrs. Mae Evans, Dolliver, and 14 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and one sister, Lydia (Mrs. Walter Pope).
Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Fuhrman Funeral Home, Estherville, with the Rev. Travis Cannaday, officiating.
Pallbearers are Dale Evans, Larry Evans, Robert Evans, Robert Long, Orville Mayne, and Merrill Kelling. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, March 8, 1971)
