Mrs. Henry Holl Dies; Rites Friday
Mrs. Henry (Agnes) Holl, 73, of Estherville died early this morning at Holy Family Hospital. She had been suffering from a heart condition for several years and had been in failing health for the past 12 months.
She was taken to the hospital yesterday and died at 2:30 a.m. today.
The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hiko Isder, Agnes Isder was born Sept. 5, 1887 [per gravestone 1885] in Grundy County. She attended Grundy county schools and was married there to Henry Holl in February 1903.
The couple farmed in Grundy County until moving to the Maple Hill are in 1914. The Holls retired in January of 1946 and moved to Estherville. He died in 1948.
Mrs. Holl was a member of the First Methodist Church here.
Five sons, a brother and three sisters survive. The sons are George of Dolliver, Lee and Richard of Estherville, Wesley of Currie, Minn., and Wayne of Hoffman, Minn.
There are 23 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
The brother, John Isder, farms in the Estherville vicinity. Sisters are Mrs. George (Dina) Reil of Grundy Center, Mrs. Jennie Whitmore of Modesto, Calif., and Mrs. Herman (Elsie) Terbick of Charles City.
Besides her husband, her parents and one daughter preceded Mrs. Holl in death.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 pm. Friday at the First Methodist Church here. The Rev. William R. Noland will officiate. Burial will be in Dolliver Cemetery.
A private service for the family will be conducted Friday morning at 10:30 at the Sternborg-Reese Chapel.
Friends may call at the funeral home from Wednesday evening until time of the services. The casket will be taken to the church to lie in state after the family services. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, June 13, 1961)
