Josie Nasby
Estherville – Services for Mrs. Josie Nasby, 78, Estherville, were held Monday at the Estherville Lutheran Church. Interment was in Estherville Lutheran [Norwegian] cemetery.

Mrs. Nasby died March 31, 1977, in Fargo, N.D. Henry and Olson Funeral Home, Estherville, was in charge of services.

Born April 9, 1898, in Goldfield, Mrs. Nasby was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ole Gjerde. She received her education in rural schools in the Goldfield area.

She was married to Jacob Nasby Oct. 24, 1925, at Ottawa, Ill., and the couple moved to the Estherville area. Mr. Nasby died in 1948. She was a member of the Estherville Lutheran Church.

Mrs. Nasby is survived by one son, Owen Nasby, Tehran, Iran; one daughter, Mrs. Norman (Ruth) Lunde, Fargo, N.D.; six grandchildren; two brothers, Lloyd Gjerde, Woden, and Orville Gjerde, Spirit Lake; and two sisters, Mrs. Agnes Nelson, Ottawa, Ill., and Mrs. LeRoy (Gladys) Robinson, Thompson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, one sister and three brothers. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, April 4, 1977)
