Mrs. Donald Van Eman, 20, Dies Here
Mrs. Donald Van Eman, 20, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Delmer Olson of rural Estherville, died this morning at Holy Family Hospital of encephalitis.

Mrs. Van Eman, who had been living with her husband at Cornell, was admitted to State University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City Jan. 23 and brought here yesterday. She died at 2 a.m. today.

Lois Lorraine Olson was born at Graettinger March 20, 1941, and received her education in the Graettinger and Estherville school systems. She moved with her parents to a farm near Estherville in 1949.

She was married to Donald Van Eman Sept. 11, 1960, at the Estherville Lutheran Church. The couple had lived in Cornell since shortly after marriage.

Mrs. Van Eman was a member of the Estherville Lutheran Church.

She is survived by her husband, two brothers, two sisters and her parents. Robert Olson is serving in the Navy and is stationed in San Diego, Calif., Allan is at home and Shirley and Viola May both live at home.

Funeral services are tentatively planned for 2 p.m. Friday at the Estherville Lutheran Church. The Rev. Roy Hendrickson will officiate. A family service will be held at 11:30 a.m. in the Sternborg-Reese Chapel.

Burial will be in the Estherville Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from Wednesday evening until noon Friday when the body will be taken to the church. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, June 20, 1961)

Van Eman Rites Saturday
Funeral services for Mrs. Donald Van Eman have been postponed until Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. Mrs. Van Eman died yesterday morning at Holy Family Hospital. The services had originally been set for Friday, but a brother, Robert, stationed with the Navy in California, is unable to get here until Saturday. Services will be held at the Estherville Lutheran Church with the Rev. Roy Hendrickson officiating. Burial will be in Estherville Lutheran cemetery. A family service will be held at the Sternbog-Reese Chapel at 11:30 Saturday. Friends may call at the funeral home from tonight until noon Saturday.
