Elmer W. Johnson Dies; Services Set
Elmer William Johnson, 46, a longtime resident of this area, died at 7:30 p.m. yesterday at Holy Family Hospital. He was in ill health for a number of years.

Mr. Johnson was a salesman for Golden Sun Milling Co. here for the past 21 years.

He was born Sept. 1, 1911 at Petersburg, Minn., and received his education there and at Woonsocket, S.D. ON March 29, 1937 he was married to Goldie Morgan at Estherville.

Mr. Johnson was baptized and confirmed in the State Line Lutheran Church and has been a member of the Estherville Lutheran Church since residing here.

Survivors include his wife, a son, Lowell Duane, at home, four brothers and five sisters. They are Mrs. Ed (Belle) Egertson, Harry and Alma all of Petersburg, John of Jackson, Minn., Mrs. L.A. (Emma) Aanonson, Mrs. Willys (Julia) Stearns, both of Estherville, Mrs. O.J. (Tina) Johnson of Forest City, the Rev. Clarence Johnson of Millbank, S.D., and Arthur of Echo, Minn.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. tomorrow at Estherville Lutheran Church, the Rev. Theodore Maakestad officiating. Burial will be at the Lutheran Cemetery north of Estherville.

Pallbearers will be fellow salesmen at Golden Sun. They are Syd Schutt, Orville Wiegman, Derald Gage, Irwin Nichols, Floyd Calhoun and Bill Butler. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, August 15, 1958)
