Olef [Olaf] Holm
Fonda – Services for Olef J. Holm, 91, formerly of Estherville, were held Friday at the Presbyterian Church in Fonda with interment in the Lutheran Cemetery at Estherville. He died Monday, Dec. 24, 1984 at the Fonda Care Center.

Holm was born Aug. 26, 1893 at Oslo, Norway, the son of Nils Johanes Haavardshholm and Gurene Selvig. He attended Narvig Grade School in Oslo, and Waldorf College at Forest City. He came to the United States in 1904 but lived in Norway during World War One, then came to Estherville. He worked at the Hill Packing Co., Estherville.

Survivors include one half-brother, Daniel Haavardsholm in Norway, nieces and nephews including John McMannus, Estherville. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, December 31, 1984)

Note: the gravestone also includes "Haavardsholm" and is shared with his brother, Nels Holm.
