Estherville – Funeral services for Herbert O. Bergeson, 89, of Estherville will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 23 at the Estherville Lutheran Church with Pastor Kermit Rye officiating. Interment will be held at the Estherville Lutheran Cemetery. He died Friday, July 19 at the Good Samaritan Center in Estherville.

Visitation will be held today from 4-8 p.m. at the Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home in Estherville.

He was born on April 26, 1907 in Terril, the son of Halvor O. and Olena (Aanonson) Bergeson. He received his education in the rural schools of Dickinson and Emmet counties. He was united in marriage to Margaret E. Misener on December 25, 1932 in Estherville. He was employed in construction and building of silos in his early years. Later, he was employed by the Tobin Packing Plant and John Morrell and Company for 36 years. He retired in 1972 as foreman. The couple moved to Estherville in 1978. His wife, Margaret died April 11, 1990.

He was a resident of the Good Samaritan Center and he was a member of the Estherville Lutheran Church.

He is survived by five sons, Donald of Topeka, Kan.; Robert of Estherville; Gary of Brooklyn Park, Minn.; Harland of Worthington, Minn.; Larry of Lombard, Ill.; two daughters, Mrs. Leland (Joyce) Clymer of Estherville; Susan Clifford of Sherburn, Minn.; 15 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; one sister, Lucille Lowe of Bettendorf and one brother, Leonard Bergeson of Spencer.
