Estherville – Services for Mrs. Gus (Leona) Poulos will be held Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at the Henry and Olson Funeral Home in Estherville with the Rev. Danville Swanson officiating. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. She died Wednesday, June 22, 1983 at Holy Family Hospital.

Friends may call at the Henry and Olson Funeral Home in Estherville after 4 p.m. Friday.

Leona Catherine Madden was born Jan. 3, 1913 at Fort Dodge, the daughter of John and Hattie (DeMorris) Madden. She attended Fort Dodge schools. On Aug. 27, 1931 she was united in marriage with Gus Poulos at Fort Dodge. In 1938 the couple moved to Estherville where she has lived since. She was a member of the Union Baptist Church. Mr. Poulos died Aug. 7, 1982.

Survivors are three sons: Doyle Wessling, Minneapolis, Minn., Jack Poulos, Estherville and Jim Poulos, Superior, Nebr.; one daughter, Mrs. Steve (Kay) Fowlie, Estherville; ten grandchildren; three sisters: Pearl Finck, Rochester, Minn., Florence Altgilbers, Gary, Ind. and Opal Scott, Calumet City, Ill.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and three brothers. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, June 23, 1983)
