Fletcher Snyder, Longtime County Farmer, Dies
Fletcher Snyder, 68, longtime Emmet county farmer, died of lingering illness 2:45 a.m. today at his farm home north of Estherville. He had been ill for about two and one half years.Snyder was born Sept. 14, 1880, in Paxton, Ill., and moved to Emmet county with his parents when he was 11 years old. The family settled on the present Snyder farm where he has lived ever since. He received his education in rural Emmet county schools.
On Oct. 22, 1919 he was married to Eda Anderson of Sherburn. He was a member of the Presbyterian church.
Survivors include his wife; a son, William, who farms the home place; a daughter, Mrs. M.E. Juhl, who lives near Estherville; a brother, Henry Snyder, Estherville; a sister, Mrs. Effie Weir, and three grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements have not been made as yet. Friends who wish to pay their last respects may call at Sandin funeral home anytime up to time of the services. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, July 15, 1949)
Snyder Rites Monday
Services for Fletcher Snyder will be held 1:30 p.m. Monday at Sandin funeral home and 2 p.m. at Presbyterian church, Rev. Frielie Conaway officiating. Burial will be at Oak Hill cemetery. Pall bearers will be Walter Schultz, Elmer Rogers, John England, William Schaper, Martin Natterstad and Carl Lee. (Estherville, IA, July 16, 1949)
