Darrell Huntley
Estherville – Services for Darrell (John) Huntley, 72, will be held at 2 pm. Monday in the United Methodist Church with Rev. Clifford Haider officiating. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. He died Thursday, Dec. 30, at Holy Family Hospital.

Friends may call at the Henry and Olson Funeral Home in Estherville after 1 p.m. Sunday.

He was born June 11, 1910 in Carroll County, Iowa, the son of Alonzo and Bessie Jane (Truck) Huntley, and received his education in the Spring Grove Schools. He married Delma Lowe on March 19, 1932 at Estherville. The couple farmed in the Wallingford area til 1936; Huntley operated a trucking business until 1946 when he went to work for David Packing Co., and John Morrell and Co. where he worked until retiring in 1974. He was a member of the United Methodist Church.

Survivors include one son, Leroy Huntley, Dolliver; four daughters: Mrs. Charles (Lila) Meyers, Mrs. Vern (Lulabelle) Schwidder, both of Estherville; Mrs. Robert (Bessie) Rienhardt, Dunnell, Hazel Christiansen, Mason City; 19 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ben of Dolliver and Harold of Ceylon; one sister, Mrs. Mae Zitterich, Graettinger.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, two grandchildren, two brothers and one sister. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, December 31, 1982)
