N.W. Gilliland Dies Suddenly
Leaves Family of Six Young Children
N.W. Gilliland passed away at his home west of Estherville Tuesday afternoon from a sudden attack of appendicitis. An operation was performed but the appendix had burst and he passed away within a few hours.

Nevin W. Gilliland was born in northeast Pennsylvania, October 6, 1880. Later he came to Emmet county and continued to follow his occupation of farming.

Besides his wife Mr. Gilliland is survived by six children.

Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2:30 at the Christian church, Rev. Ragsdale in charge.

N.W. Gilliland Dies Tuesday; Services Today
Nevin W. Gilliland 49, who underwent an operation Friday at his farm home, died Tuesday afternoon. Funeral services will be held this afternoon at the Christian church with the Rev. A.L. Ragsdale officiating. Burial will be at the Oakhill cemetery. Nevin William [Warren] Gilliland was born Oct. 6, 1880, at East Waterford, Penn., and was the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Gilliland.
