Funeral Services for Gillmore Man

Gilmore City, Ia. – October 5 – Funeral services for Peter Delle were conducted Friday morning at nine o’clock at the home of his brother, John Delle. Rev. Chas. H. Flesher, pastor of the Methodist church officiating. Peter Delle was born in Germany, March 17, 1850 and died at the home of his brother, John Delle, in Gilmore City, Tuesday afternoon, September 25, 1931, aged eighty-one years. Mr. Delle came to the United States with his parents, Adam and Margarite Delle, in 1854.

He engaged in farming his entire life in both Iowa and Minnesota owning and operating a farm near Hitterdale, Minn., where he resided until about a year ago when he came to Gilmore City to make his home with his brother. He united with the Methodist church more than forty years ago and continued a member until his death.

He is survived by his widow and one son, Willis Delle of Hitterdale, Minn., a daughter having preceded him in death and a brother, John Delle, of this place, the last of a family of five boys and three girls.

Burial was made in the Estherville cemetery. (Humboldt Independent, Humboldt, IA, October 6, 1931 and Humboldt Republican, Estherville, IA, October 9, 1931)

Note: probably Oak Hill, where daughter, Hazel, is buried
