Mrs. John [Jane Hausack] Chambers, who lived with her son, Robert Chambers, three miles east of town, died October 29th, of paralysis. Mrs. Chambers was born in New York state in 1825 and in her childhood moved with her parents to Columbus, Ohio, where she married John H. Chambers and near where she spent the most of her life. Her husband died eight years ago. Three years ago she moved to Iowa with her sons Robert and Samuel, who live three miles east of Estherville. Mrs. Chambers was the mother of five children, three of whom are living. The third son is station agent at Owatonna, Minn. Mrs. Chambers was an active Christian since her early youth, a noble mother, and much loved by all who knew her. Rev. McLeod conducted the funeral.
