Brouse Dies; Rites Monday
Chase Marion Brouse, 67 well-known Estherville area farmer, died yesterday at 9:15 p.m. at Holy Family Hospital, approximately an hour after admittance to the hospital. Immediate cause of death was listed as a heart condition although Mr. Brouse had suffered for several years with arthritis. Ill only a couple of days Mr. Brouse’s condition became steadily worse last night and he was taken to the hospital by ambulance.

He was born Aug. 19, 1890 at Dexter, son of Mr. and Mrs. Amos Brouse. When 10 years of age he moved with his family to Armour, S.D., where he completed his education.

Married Oct. 6, 1921 to Myrtle Leupold at Sioux Falls, S.D., Mr. Brouse and his wife made their home at Armour until 1927 when they moved to Fairmont, Minn. In 1936 they moved to their present farm northeast of Estherville.

Mr. Brouse was a long-time member of the Methodist Church.

He is survived by his widow; two sons, Alvin, at home, and Vernon, student at the University of Iowa; two daughters, Mrs. Ralph (Carol) Hedlund, San Diego, Calif., and Mrs. John (Ruth) Rammelsberg, Palo, Iowa; three grandchildren, two brothers, Charlie, New Lenox, Ill., and Gary, Tujunga, Calif., and three sisters, Mrs. Ella Clabaugh, Minneapolis; Mrs. Edza Fineran, Armour, S.D., an Mrs. Geneva Krebs, West Fork, Ark.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister.

Funeral services have been tentatively scheduled for Monday at 2 p.m. at First Methodist Church, the Rev. William R. Noland officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill cemetery.

Friends may call at Sandin-Fuhrman Funeral Home from Sunday noon until Monday to 11 a.m. at which time the body will be taken to the church to lie in state from noon until time of services.
