Spirit Lake – Memorial services for Delbert Lee Beauman, 74, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at St. Alban’s Episcopal Church in Spirit Lake. He died Thursday, Oct. 31, 1985 at Holy Family Hospital, Estherville. Fuhrman Funeral Home, Estherville, is in charge of arrangements.He was born March 24, 1911 in Lansboro, the son of Vern and Grace (Perkins) Beauman, and received his education in the Estherville schools graduating from Estherville High School. Following high school he attended Louisiana State University in Shreveport, La. On Feb. 11, 1934 he was united in marriage to Maxine Converse in Estherville. She died April 30, 1971.
He Owned and operated Maple Hill Lumber Company in Maple Hill and Spirit Lake. He was a member of the Grace Episcopal Church in Estherville.
Survivors include a son, Lee Beauman, Holmer, Alaska; five daughters, Mrs. Gwen Graeber, Estherville, Mrs. George (Barbara) Smith, Julian, Calif., Gay Beauman, Lake Tahoe, Calif., and MiMi Beauman, Fort Collins, Colo.; 19 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Madge Beauman, Des Moines, and Helen Martin, Inglewood, Fla.
He was preceded in death by his wife and parents. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, November 4, 1985)
