Andrew Rockne [Rokne] Dies
Andrew B. Rockne, 76, lifetime resident of the High lake area, died early this morning at his home. He had been ill with cancer for the past years but had been bedfast for only a week. He is survived by one brother, Lars. B. Rockne, Estherville; and two sisters, Mrs. K.A. Traefald, Mora, Minn., and Mrs. Lewis Isaakson, Wallingford. Announcement of funeral services will be published in Monday’s Daily News. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, November 27, 1954)

Funeral of Andrew Rockne [Rokne] Held Tuesday
Funeral services for Andrew B. Rockne were held Tuesday afternoon from the Louis Isakson home at Wallingford at 1:30 p.m. and the Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran church at 2:30 The Rev. C.B. Gunderson officiated at the services. Six nephews, Albert Traefald, Bert Traefald, Wilmer Isakson, Bernard Isakson, Obert Rockne and Lloyd Rockne, acted as pall bearers. Burial was in the Ryan Lake [High Lake] cemetery.

Mr. Rockne was born May 19, 1878, the son of Bryngel and Inger Rockne, on a farm four miles east of Estherville. He spent his entire life on the same farm. In failing health for the past two years, Mr. Rockne became seriously ill two weeks ago and died Monday at his home.

He was baptized and confirmed at the Immanuel Evangelical church south of Gruver and was a life-lon member of the same church.

Preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and three brothers, his survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Knute Traefald of Mora, Minn., and Mrs. Louis Isakson of Wallingford and one brother, Lars Rockne of Estherville, 21 nieces and nephews and many other relatives.
