Heart Attack Fatal to C.L. Hanson
C.L. Hanson died Wednesday [June 27, 1956] night at his farm home 10 miles east of Wallingford it was learned Thursday morning. Mr. Hanson died of a heart attack according to Dr. D.E. Dunn, County Coroner. Mr. Hanson was 72 years old and had lived most of his life in Emmet County.The body was discovered early Thursday morning by Nick Spears who had noticed Mr. Hanson did not look well last night about 9 p.m. According to Deputy Sheriff Jim Simpson, Hanson probably collapsed about the same time Spears left the house. He was found lying against the door with a lantern still in his hand. Entrance was made through a window until the body was moved.
Surviving Mr. Hanson are three nieces and six nephews. They are Mrs. Fred Klingbeil, Mrs. David Norman, Obert Rockne, Lloyd Rockne, Kirt Rockne, Elmer Rockne, all of Estherville; Mrs. Amos Sevold of Sioux Falls, Ordean Hanson of Walnut Grove, Minn., and Hurly Jenson of Fresno, Calif.
Funeral arrangements include a service in the Sternborg funeral home chapel at 2 p.m. Saturday. The officiating clergyman is to be decided by the family later. Interment will be in High Lake cemetery. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, June 28, 1956)
