Estherville – Funeral services for Maynard C. [Clifford] Peterson, 95, of Estherville will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 11, 1999, at Wallingford Lutheran church, Wallingford, with Pastor Jack Torgerson officiating. Interment will be at High Lake Cemetery, Wallingford.

He died Friday, Oct. 8 at Avera Holy Family Hospital, Estherville.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Sunday at the Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home, Estherville.

He was born Aug. 16, 1904 in Emmet County, the son of Peter and Mary Jane Peterson. He attended the Spring Grove Country School near High Lake. He lived in the High Lake area most of his life where he farmed and raised sheep.

He sold his property in 1980 and lived at the Emmet County Farm until 1988 when he moved to the Good Samaritan Center. His old homestead became the Peterson Point Historic Site.

He was a member of the Wallingford Lutheran Church.

He is survived by several cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Blanchard and a sister, Pearl. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, October 9, 1999)
