The sad news was received by Mrs. Vahldieck that Mrs. Lilzenberg [Liljenberg] had passed away at her home near Jefferson, Greene county, Wednesday morning. The body was brought to Ringsted Friday morning and services held in the Hoprig church at 12:30, conducted by Rev. Whitteman, after which the body was taken to High Lake cemetery and laid in the family lot beside departed loved ones. The remains were accompanied here by the daughters, Mrs. Vahldeick and Mrs. John Paugh, Mr. Paugh and two children. The church was nicely decorated with flowers, and friends came from near and far to show the respect felt, and to extend sympathy. (Estherville Enterprise, Estherville, IA, April 14, 1909)
