John Iverson is Dead
John Iverson, well known to most of the old settlers of the county, died a few days ago at Britton, South Dakota. He lived across the Emmet county line for several years and often came to Emmetsburg to do his trading. He was a well-to-do Scandinavian. He moved to Britton something over a year ago where he purchased a farm. His remains were brought back to Estherville for burial. The many people of this county who knew him and respected him will learn with sincere regret of his death. (Emmetsburg Democrat, Emmetsburg, IA, May 13, 1903)

High Lake – Angor Iverson of Brittain, N.D. [S.D.] who has been here since last December, was called home last week by the death of her father, John Iverson. The deceased lived here a number of years, moving to North [South] Dakota last spring. He had many friends here, who mourn his death. (Vindicator and Republican, Estherville, IA, May 13, 1903)

John Iverson Dead
John Iverson, one of the pioneer settlers of High Lake township, died at his home near Britton, S.D., last Thursday. He had been in poor health for several years and the announcement of his death was no surprise. Funeral services were held at that place, last Saturday, and the remains interred near that place. The deceased is well known to the people of Emmet county. It was about a year ago that he left here and moved into North Dakota, largely in the hopes that the change of climate would be beneficial to his health. Iver G. Iverson of Havana, S.D. arrived from that place Thursday with the remains of his father, John Iverson which he brought here for burial in the cemetery in High Lake township. It will be remembered that Mr. Iverson died at Havana [Britton] and was buried there two or three years ago. The body was exhumed and removed to the High Lake cemetery to be buried in the family lot there beside other members of the family. Mr. and Mrs. Iverson will visit in Estherville and High Lake several days before their return to Havana. (Vindicator and Republican, Estherville, IA, July 11, 1906)
