Estherville – Services for Nettie Hanson, 91, Estherville, were held Monday at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, south of Gruver, with the Rev. Dale Jensen officiating. Interment was in High Lake Cemetery, rural Wallingford.

Miss Hanson died Friday [June 16, 1978] evening at Holy Family Hospital, Estherville. Henry and Olson Funeral Home, Estherville, was in charge of arrangements.

She was born Feb. 7, 1887, in Emmet County, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Steiner Hanson. She received her education in rural Emmet county schools and was never married.

Mrs. Hanson lived on the Jack Creek Township farm where she was born for 90 years, until moving to Estherville in 1977. She was a lifetime member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church.

She is survived by second cousins, Obert Rockne and Lloyd Rockne, both of Estherville, Kert Rockne, Casa Grande, Ariz., Ordean Hanson, Spencer, Mrs. Amos Sevold, Haveshoe [Havesu], Ariz., and Mrs. Mary Campion, Santa Cruse [Cruz], Calif.

Mrs. Hanson was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and six brothers. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, June 19, 1978)
