Miss Emma Hanson Dies
Miss Emma Christina Hanson, 76, died yesterday morning at the farm home of her brother, Alfred Hanson. She had been ill for a long time. She was born April 4, 1883 [Per cemetery records, 1882] near Graettinger and spent her entire life in that community and at the Hanson farm in Jack Creek Township. She is survived by a sister Nettie and her brother, Alfred, and several cousins in this area. Funeral services will be Monday at 2 p.m. at the Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran church south of Gruver, with the Rev. Benjamin Coltvet officiating. Friends may call at the Sternborg Funeral Home from Sunday noon until time of services. Burial will be in High Lake Cemetery. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, February 13, 1959)
