Ringsted – Services for Gilbert Raymond England, 58, will be held Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at the Wallingford Lutheran Church with Pastor Mark Jolivette officiating. Interment will be in High Lake Township Cemetery. He died Sunday, Nov. 2, 1986 at his rural Ringsted home.

Friends may call at the Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home in Estherville after 3 p.m. Wednesday.

He was born May 12, 1928 at Halfa, the son of Otis and Ruth (Bates) England. He attended Ringsted School graduating in 1946. On July 12, 1947 he was united in marriage with Artis Hatland at Estherville. Following their marriage the couple farmed near Halfa, Ringsted, Wallingford, Estherville and Minnesota State Line areas. He also worked at Morrell’s, Woodley’s Hatchery, Robinson’s Pontiac Garage, P.G. Gray’s and Wallingford Coop Elevator. He returned to farming and retired in 1982 for health reasons. He was a member of the Wallingford Lutheran Church.

Survivors include his wife Artis and father Otis England, Ringsted; one son Ronald England, Tucson, Ariz.; three daughters: Mrs. Kenneth (Vickie) Hiles, Wallingford, Mrs. Donald (Cindy) Price, Ceylon, Minn. and Mrs. Keith (Lynda) Iverson, Tempe, Ariz.; six grandchildren: Jennifer, BethAnn, Laura Sue and Karen Hiles, Jason and April Price.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Ruth England and twin brother and sister. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, November 5, 1986)
