Vera Christopher Died Last Sunday
Miss Vera, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Christopher, died Sunday [November 28, 1926] after an illness of two years. Her ailment was something in the nature of anemia. The funeral was held at the M.E. church Wednesday at one o’clock in the afternoon, Rev. L.C. McNulty officiating. The burial was in High Lake cemetery.

Vera Christopher was born at Graettinger September 4, 1902. She was 24 years old. She graduated from the Graettinger High School and later took a course in the Iowa State college at Ames to prepare herself for the vocation of teaching. She taught one year at Bagley and two years at Halfa. She proved herself a tireless worker in the school room and was much esteemed by all who came in contact with her. Besides her parents, she leaves to mourn her passing, two sisters, Miss Cora of Graettinger and Mrs. Leon Nefstead of Newton. A wide circle of friends offer sincere sympathy to the family in their sorrow. – Emmetsburg Democrat (Estherville Democrat, Estherville, IA, December 8, 1926)

Superior
Mr. and Mrs. Louis Garling, Lucille Smith and Elsie Trabert attended the funeral of Miss Vera Christopher at Graettinger last week. The deceased was a sister of Miss Cora Christopher who formerly taught in our school. Vera visited here a number of times while Cora lived in our community and made a number of friends who sympathize with the family in the loss of so young a life.
