Christiansen Rites Friday
Funeral services for Mrs. Hans (Genevieve) Christiansen of Ringsted will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Presbyterian church in Ringsted, the Rev. James Warren officiating. Interment will be in the Jack Creek- High Lake Cemetery, according to her stepson, Ervin Christiansen. She was found dead at her home about 9 a.m. yesterday of a heart attack. Mrs. Hans (Genevieve) Christiansen, 62, of Ringsted was born Dec. 26, 1895 at Masonville, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Griffens. She died July 7 at her home in Ringsted of a coronary occlusion.Following graduation from high school she attended Iowa State Teachers College. After the death of her first husband, Mac Oakes, she was united in marriage to Hans Christiansen. She had been employed as a cook at the Ringsted High School.
Survivors are five step-children, Ervin Christiansen of Estherville, Forrest and Kermit Christiansen, Mrs. Arnold Lund and Mrs. Harold Holte, all of Ringsted; one sister, Mrs. Charles Wiehr, Coral Gables, Fla., and three brothers, Glen, Carl and Walter Griffens.
Her parents and husband preceded her in death.
Funeral services were held this morning at the Presbyterian church in Ringsted, the Rev. James Warren and the Rev. Mr. Wicks officiating. Burial was in High Lake cemetery. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, July 12, 1958)
