Grandma Peterson Wambhem, who is staying with her youngest daughter, Mrs. Ole Aanonson, was taken quite sick some days ago. She has four daughters and one son living, who are all helping to care for her now. She will be 95 years old in the spring. (Estherville Enterprise, Estherville, IA, February 2, 1916)
Grandma Peterson Wambeim died at the home of her youngest daughter, Mrs. Ole Aanonson, Sunday [June 30, 1916] night at 11 o’clock at the ripe old age of almost 95 years. She has been a sufferer for the past four months. She leaves to mourn her departure, four daughters, Mrs. G. Paulson, Mrs. C. Aanonson, one son, H. Peterson, Mrs. Ole Johnson and Andrew Peterson having died some years ago. The funeral will be held on Tuesday, at 12 o’clock at the house, by Rev. T.J. Severtson of Gruver. The remains will be laid to rest in the High Lake cemetery. Grandma came from Norway about 35 years ago and has made her home among her seven children who all owned homes in this vicinity. She was a very industrious woman, had excellent health and never had to call a doctor in her life. (Estherville Enterprise, Estherville, IA, May 3, 1916)
