Sessel Jacobson Dies
Sessel Olena Jacobson, 60, died today at 10 a.m. at Holy Family Hospital after having been hospitalized since April 2. Sessel Olena Jacobson, 60, died Saturday at 10 a.m. at Holy Family Hospital shortly after surgery for gangrene of the foot. She had been hospitalized about a month.She was born Oct. 25, 1898 in Emmet County, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Jacobson. Miss Jacobson, a lifetime member of the Estherville and Wallingford communities received her education in Emmet County schools and was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. She was a member of the Estherville Lutheran Church all her life.
Survivors include five sisters and one brother, Jacob. Her sisters are Mrs. Jamie (Tilda) Kasa of Wallingford; Mrs. Hans (Lydia) Fohn-Hansen of Fairbanks, Alaska; Mrs. Arthur (Eda) Fossum of Spirit Lake; Mrs. Andrew (Gustie) Frisvold and Miss Alpha Jacobson, of Estherville. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and one brother.
Funeral services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Estherville Lutheran Church, the Rev. T.W. Maakestad officiating. Friends may call at the Sandin-Fuhrman Funeral Home until noon Tuesday, when the body will lie in state at the church until time of services. Burial will be in the Wallingford cemetery. Pallbearers are Ernest Syverson, Elmer Lee, Orville Gjerde, Belva Ross, Leonard Barrett and Martin Natterstad. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, April 27, 1959)
