Arthur Fossum Services Held Today in Estherville
Arthur Martin Fossum, 76, Estherville, died at 7:29 p.m. Oct. 25 in Holy Family Hospital, Estherville. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. today in Estherville Lutheran Church with the Rev. Stanley Eyberg officiating.

Burial will be made in Wallingford Lutheran Cemetery. Reese-Henry Funeral Home, Estherville, was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Fossum was born Feb. 26, 1897, in Elm Springs, Ark., to Mr. and Mrs. Hans Fossum, attended Wallingford schools and Waldorf Academy, Forest City. He was married to Eda Jacobson on Dec. 31, 1919, in her parents’ home near Wallingford.

He was employed by the U.S. postal department in Estherville for 34 years and was a chief clerk for a number of years. Also a veteran of World War I, he was a member of the American Legion and Iowa Historical Society. He was a member of Estherville Lutheran Church.

Survivors include his wife, Eda, Estherville; one son, Edward Fossum, San Antonio, Tex.; and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, three sisters, three brothers and two grandchildren. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, October 29, 1973)
