Estherville – Services for Fredrick F. Fitzgerald, 73, will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church with Pastors Dennis Fitzgerald, Orris Refsell and Rick Capps officiating. Interment will be in Wallingford Lutheran Cemetery with full military graveside rites. He died August 10, 1989 at Methodist Hospital, Rochester, Minn.

Friends may call at Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home from 4-9 p.m. Saturday.

He was born Sept. 28, 1915 at Fort Dodge, the son of Forest and Flossie (Abel) Fitzgerald. He attended Dolliver School. On Sept. 23, 1940 he married Esther Refsell at Estherville. Following marriage they farmed near Wallingford and moved to Estherville in 1956 where he worked for John Morrell & Co. 23 years, retiring in 1979. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church; V.F.W. Post 3388 Estherville.

Survivors include his wife, Esther, Estherville; three sons: Pastor Dennis Fitzgerald, Elmwood, Ill.; Larry, Estherville and James, Dunnell, Minn.; three daughters: Karen and Kay Lynn Fitzgerald, Robinsdale, Minn. and Mrs. Brad (Carol) Ehmke, Waltham, Minn.; 15 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; three brothers: Lyle, Ames; Don, Alta; Everett, Santa Rosa, Calif.; three sisters: Bessie Peterson, Wahoo, Neb., Bea Lamonte, Omaha, Nebr. and Lilliemae Traylor, Felton, Calif.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one infant son. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, August 12, 1989)
