Andrine Paulson [Paulsen]

Andrine Paulson, daughter of the Emmet County pioneers, Tollof and Guri Paulson, was born January 17, 1865, on the Paulson homestead south of Estherville. She has been resident of Emmet County all her life. Nine years prior to her illness she made her home with Mr. and Mrs. John Johnson of Wallingford. Mrs. Johnson, whose name before she was married was Thelma Pranke, was cared for by Miss Paulson from the age of three years and made her home with her until her marriage.

Miss Paulson passed away last Wednesday [September 23, 1931] afternoon at the Roy J. Brown home where she has been cared for the last few months. She was 66 years, 8 months and 5 days old. Baptized and confirmed in the Estherville Lutheran Church as a child, she retained her membership there all her life. Her parents, two sisters, Sarah and Sessel, and three brothers, Assur, Paul and Ole, have preceded her death. She is survived one sister, Mrs. Lars Jacobson of this city, several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

The funeral was held Friday afternoon from the L. Jacobson home in Estherville and then the Riverside Church at Wallingford. Her pastor, Rev. L.A. Mathre, officiating. Rev. P. Nordsletten also spoke at the church. Singing was supplied by a quartet composed of S.O. Lunde, Pearl Anderson, Evelyn Clemenon and Roy Gunderson, all of Wallingford, and Ollie Nasby of Jackson sang a solo. The pallbearers were: Ole Nasby, Erik Nasby, Jacob Nasby, Julius Anderson, Paul Paulson and Conrad Refsell. Interment was made in the Paulson plot in the Wallingford cemetery.
