EMMETSBURG - Funeral services for Alice M. Sidles, 74, of Emmetsburg will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 15, 2010, at First United Methodist Church in Emmetsburg with Pastor Judy DePue officiating. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Thursday at the Martin-Mattice Funeral Home in Emmetsburg. Interment will be at East Side Memorial Cemetery in Estherville.

She died Sunday, Oct. 10, 2010, at her home in Emmetsburg.

Alice Marie Sidles, daughter of Jesse "Ray" and Viola (Keeler) Hoffmeyer, was born Jan. 2, 1936, in Estherville. She attended school in Estherville graduating in 1954.

On Oct. 2, 1955, Alice was united in marriage to Donald F. Sidles in Jackson, Minn. To this union four sons were born.

Alice was employed at Berkeley's for many years and later SNC. She also worked at Eaton's Manufacturing, IEI and was currently employed at Jimglo. For years Alice helped her husband, Don, with the wrecker service.

Alice was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Emmetsburg.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donald; two sisters, Marlene Hoffmeyer and Nancy Kaneer; one brother, Edward and a great-grandson, Matthew.

She is survived by her children, Jon Sidles of Windom, Minn., Reggie Sidles (Deb) of Emmetsburg, Ramon Sidles of Emmetsburg and Jay Sidles (Laura) of Emmetsburg; four grandchildren; one great-grandson; four brothers; six sisters; several nieces and nephews.
