Former Resident Dies in the West
Mrs. Emma Tyler Forest [Forrest] Succumbs in Pasadena – Burial at Cedar Rapids
Word came to Greene that Mrs. Emma Tyler Forest of Pasadena, California, had passed on and her remains were being brought to Cedar Rapids, where burial will be Wednesday, November 11.

Emma Tyler Forest came to Greene from Fremont, Ohio, before 1880, with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Tyler, a brother of George, and sister, Mary Tyler Rank [Ranck]. One by one the family passed on and were buried in Rose Hill cemetery here at Greene.

Tylers had a store here, many years ago, on the corner where the Buchholz & Dralle store is now, and sold it to A. Price of Clarksville. They also built the cold storage building, which is now the Greene Produce Co. building.

Carl Tyler and wife of Ohio are attending the obsequies at Cedar Rapids, and expect to arrive in Greene, Friday, for a visit with Mr. and Mrs. F.L. Stober. (Iowa Recorder, Greene, IA, November 11, 1936)
