Funeral Monday for Edward Wymer
Edward Wymer, 88, Estherville, died at 9:27 p.m. Thursday [October 29, 1970] at Holy Family Hospital. He had been in failing health for the past six months.He was born June 8, 1882, the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Wymer, and was educated in Iowa City. He had moved to Estherville from Fort Dodge 57 years ago. He was employed at the Bingham Block Factor in Estherville until 1915, then employed at the Estherville Wholesale Grocery and later at the Soo Valley Fish Line Co., until 1956 when he retired.
He is survived by his wife, Sadie [Sadie Pearl Bolan], Estherville; three sons, George, Estherville, Donald E., Fort Worth, Tex., and Edward J. of Fort Dodge; one daughter, Mrs. Leonard Haines, Estherville; seven grandchildren; and one brother, Jack Wymer, Cedar Rapids. He was preceded in death by his first wife, his parents, one son, two brothers and one sister.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Reese-Henry Chapel in Estherville with the Rev. Richard Pearson officiating. Burial will be in the East Side Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Reese-Henry Funeral Home after 7 p.m. Saturday until time of the service on Monday. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, October 30, 1970)
