Lieut. Kenneth Hubbard Killed in Air Crash
Lieut. Kenneth E. Hubbard was killed in an aerial accident over England, Nov. 29, according to word received from the war department Dec. 16 by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Hubbard, of Estherville who are visiting at Osage.

The telegram stated Lieutenant Hubbard had been killed in an aircraft crash over England and that more information would follow.

Lieutenant Hubbard completed his primary and basic training at Sequoia Field, Visalia, Calif., and Gardner Field, Taft, Calif.

He was stationed at Portland Air Base, Portland, Ore., prior to being selected for aviation cadet training. He is a graduate of Estherville high school, where he won letters in football and track.

Surviving Lieutenant Hubbard are his parents, a brother, Clayton, of Estherville, a sister, Mrs. Glenn Yates of Osage, and another sister, Mrs. Ronald Schenck, who is now with her husband stationed in Washington. (Vindicator and Republican, Estherville, IA, December 21, 1944)
