Emma Paulson
Estherville – Services for Emma M. Paulson, 95, of Estherville, will be held Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Methodist Church in Estherville with the Rev. Larry Willey officiating. Interment will be in East Side Cemetery, Estherville. She died Saturday, Oct. 31, 1998 at Good Samaritan Center, Estherville.

Visitation will be from 5 – 7 p.m. Tuesday at Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home in Estherville.

She was born Nov. 18, 1902 at Upsala, Minn., the daughter of Carl and Bettie Peterson. She attended Upsala schools and secretarial classes in Brainerd, Minn. Oct. 10, 1921 she married Henry Paulson at Upsala. The couple moved to Estherville in 1922. She was a seamstress and did alterations for several businesses and later clerked at F.W. Woolworth store. She has lived at Good Samaritan Center since Sept. 3, 1997.

She was a member of Estherville United Methodist Church; VFW Auxiliary Service Star Legion; World War One Auxiliary and Senior Citizens of Estherville and for many years was secretary for the East Side Cemetery Association.

She is survived by sons: Kenneth of Lees Summit, Mo. and Orville of Estherville and one daughter, Mrs. Joe (Donna) Grove of Sioux City; six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband who died April 25, 1960; five brothers and three sisters. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, November 3, 1998)
