Scottsdale, Ari – Services for Arnold Mouritsen, 86, from Scottsdale, Ari., formerly of Estherville, are pending. He died Friday, September 17, 1993 in a care center in Scottsdale.

Scottsdale, Ariz. – Graveside services for Arnold N. Mouritsen, 86, of Scottsdale and formerly of Estherville, will be held Saturday, Oct. 9, at 10:30 a.m. at the East Side Cemetery with the Rev. Dick Pearson officiating. He died Friday, Sept. 17, 1993 at Joyce Miller Care Center. A memorial service was held at Scottsdale United Methodist Church Sept. 25.

Friends are invited to the Estherville United Church for coffee following the graveside service.

Mouritsen was born Dec. 2, 1906 in Ringsted, the son of Hans and Dagmar Mouritsen. He received his education in the Ringsted Public School. As a young man he worked in a meat market. On Feb. 6, 1926, he was united in marriage with Ruth Helen King. The couple moved to Estherville and at that time Mouritson purchased an in-store meat market. He spent 43 years in the retail food business, retiring at the age of 67. The couple moved to Scottsdale in 1977.

He was a past member of North Star Lodge No. 447 in Estherville and this year received his 50 years of Masonry award as a member of Estherville Masonic Lodge. In Scottsdale he was a member of Camelback Daylight Lodge. In 1978 he became a charter member and held an office for many years.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth of Scottsdale; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by an infant son, Robert Lee; son Richard and daughter Patricia Ruth Martin. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, October 6, 1993)
