Estherville – Services for Dorothy Mae Linn, 68, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, August 14 at the Christian Church with Rev. Steve Allen officiating. Interment will be in the East Side Cemetery. She died Sunday, August 12 at the Dickinson County Memorial Hospital.

Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the funeral at the church only.

Mrs. Linn was born August 12, 1922 in Ladysmith, Wisconsin, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Martin Johnson and received her education in Estherville schools. She moved with her family to North Dakota and then to Estherville as a young girl and has lived in the Estherville area since that time. She worked at the Balmer Nursing Home for several years before her employment at the Emmet County Day Care Center where she worked for over 20 years. She married Alfred Linn on September 27, 1940 in Jackson, Minnesota and was a member of the Christian Church and the Emmet County Diabetic Society.

Survivors include her husband, Alfred; her mother, Mrs. Ivy Johnson of Estherville; three brothers and one sister; two sons and four daughters, 25 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father, one brother, two sons and two grandsons. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, August 13, 1990)

Estherville – Services for Mrs. Alfred (Dorothy) Linn, 68, were held August 14 at the Christian Church with the Rev. Steve Allen officiating. Interment was in East Side Cemetery. She died Sunday, August 12, 1990 at Dickinson County Memorial Hospital in Spirit Lake. Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home of Estherville was in charge of arrangements.

Dorothy Mae Johnson was born August 12, 1922 at Ladysmith, Wis., the daughter of Martin and Ivy (Platter) Johnson and moved with her family to North Dakota and then to Estherville as a young girl. She attended Estherville schools. On Sept. 27, 1940 she was united in marriage with Alfred Linn at Jackson, Minn. She worked at the Balmer Nursing Home for several years before her employment at the Emmet County Day Care Center where she has worked for over 20 years.

She was a member of the Christian Church and Emmet County Diabetic Association.

Survivors include her husband Alfred and mother Mrs. Ivy Johnson of Estherville; two sons: Richard and Ronald Linn of Colfax; four daughters: Mrs. Beverly Bannister; Mrs. David (Carol) Scott, San Angelo, Tex.; Nancy Troyer, Jackson, Minn. and Mrs. Perry (Marcia) Mann, Alpha, Minn.; 25 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; three brothers: Marvin (Bud) Johnson, Estherville; Jim Johnson, Spencer; Larry Johnson, Wisconsin; and one sister, Mrs. Murray (Donna) Lenz, Alaska.

She was preceded in death by two sons; two grandsons; father; and one brother. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, August 16, 1990)
