The funeral of Mrs. Barbro Flaten occurred at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. S. Hoff, in High lake township, last Friday. Mrs.Flaten was 93 years and four months old at the time of her death, and nothwithstanding her extreme age, preserved her faculties unimpaired. Born in Norway in 1795, her earliest recollections were of the Napoleonic wars and the terrible results, reducing the people of Europe to beggary. When 75 years of age, she moved to this country. She was the mother of twelve children, only five of whom survive her. Her son from Albert Lea, with whom she lived for a long time, was here to attend the funeral.
