Another County Pioneer Gone
Knut Wold Passed Away at His Home at East Lawn on Friday, August 11th
Knut Wold, who has been a resident of this county since 1881, passed away at his home in East Lawn on last Friday. The deceased was born in Alamakee county in the year 1860, and lived there during his boyhood. In the year of his arrival here he moved to the central part of the county and lived there for many years. Some six years ago he moved to this city where he has resided. While here he has carried on his profession of mason and plasterer. The funeral services were held from the home of Theo. Wold, on Sunday last, the Rev. Severison officiating. The remains were laid to rest in the Swan Lake cemetery. The funeral was one of the largest ever held in the central portion of the county, where the deceased was blessed with innumerable friends.

Mrs. L.A. Shifflett, of Grinnell, and Lewis Wold, of Cedar Rapids, brother of the deceased, were here to attend the funeral of their beloved brother. (Estherville Enterprise, Estherville, IA, August 16, 1916)
