Estherville – Funeral services will be held today at 10:30 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church in Estherville for Charles (Charlie) Vern Kilgore, 54, who died Saturday [December 19, 1987] at Holy Family Hospital.

The Rev. John Besore III will conduct the services and burial will follow at the East Side Cemetery. Visitation was held from 3 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Henry-Olson-Furhman Funeral Home.

Mr. Kilgore was born Feb. 17, 1933, at Estherville, the son of Charles V. and Ann (Barta) Kilgore. He graduated from Estherville High School in 1950 and later from Estherville Junior College.

He and the former Dolores Frederick were married March 12, 1961 in Estherville. The couple lived in Sioux Falls, S.D. after their marriage, returning to Estherville in 1963 where they resided since.

Mr. Kilgore was employed as a salesman for several companies in the Estherville [area] and the couple were members of First Presbyterian Church.

Surviving are his wife, Dolores, of Estherville; his mother, Ann, of Estherville; three daughters including Mrs. Jeff (Kelly) Thelen and Mrs. Dennis (Kerry) Erickson, both of Estherville, and Kristyn Kilgore of Sioux Falls, S.D.; three sons including Kevin of Fort Walton Beach, Fla. and Craig and Keith, both of Estherville. Four grandchildren also survive.
